Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuits
the frigid temps have arrived. THe wind chill the next few nights means we are all looking to make some warm cozy food. Most commonly i’m going to guess people are making some form of soup. Pair your soup with these biscuits to add an extra layer of flavor to your meal. These would be so good with a white chicken chili, or even classic chili.
JALAPENO CHEDDAR BISCUITS
1/4 c. Cold Butter, cubed
2 c. Flour
2 TBSP Baking Powder
Pinch of salt
1 c. Buttermilk
1/4 c. diced jalapeno—I used fresh each time I made this.
1/2 t. chopped garlic
1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 450 °. Using hands, stand mixer, or a pastry dough cutter combine cold butter and flour until crumbly. There will still be chunks of butter and that’s ok. Mix in the jalapeno, garlic, and cheese to the dough. Add the buttermilk, mix gently until just combined. Streaks of flour still in the dough is ok. On a floured surface roll out biscuit dough and either cut into squares or circles. Bake at 450 degrees for 15-17 minutes.
I also understand biscuits can be finicky! If you have a tried and true recipe that works for you, just add in these flavors to change it up a bit. Happy Baking!
