Homemade Brownie Mix
This recipe is grown from a brownie recipe that was given to us for the cookbook. We can also share that original recipe as well if you are not looking to make a container of mix! Included below will be the MEASUREMENTS for the mix, and the recipe to make either an 8x8 or 9x13 pan.
HOMEMADE BROWNIE MIX
3 c. Unsweetened Cocoa
7 1/2 c. White Sugar
4 1/2 c. Flour
2 1/2 tsp. Salt
Combine all ingredients in an airtight container.
*For reference the container ours is stored in is 4.3 qt.
BROWNIES (9x13 pan)
4 1/3 c. brownie mix
1 c. butter, melted
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips, or whatever you prefer
Mix all ingredients until just combined, don’t overmix. Bake in 350 degree oven for 33-36 minutes. Do not overbake!
BROWNIES (8x8 pan)
2 c. + 1/3 heaping c. brownie mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
Mix until just combined. Bake at 350 degrees for 23-25 minutes. Do not overbake! We usually take out about 24 mins, but so many things can make this vary.
** We prefer using the mini versions of chocolate chips or chopping up regular chips so they are a bit smaller and more distributed throughout the brownies.
